The Occupational Therapy Assistant will be responsible for providing a wide range of occupational therapy services to patients in an Acute Care Hospital setting.

Job Description:

The Occupational Therapy Assistant will perform all or some of the following Job description:

• The Occupational Therapy Assistant will focus primarily on patient assessment, quality care, monitoring of patient status and compliance, teaching of patients and caregivers, and discharge planning

• He/She will deliver care based on Standards of Practice for the particular state of practice

• The Occupational Therapy Assistant will carry out and observe hands-on treatment, implementation and documentation of patients under the direction of the Occupational Therapist.           

• The Occupational Therapy Assistant should possess minimum of six months experience in an acute care or rehabilitation setting
• He/She should be able to communicate on a regular basis with the Occupational Therapist as to the status, progress, and needs of the patient
• He/She should possess the ability to transfer, maneuver, and lift incapacitated clients in the Hospital or LTC Facility setting
• The Occupational Therapy Assistant must be in compliance with company policy and regulatory requirements.
