Through regular therapy sessions, the COTA will work one-on-one with patients, focusing on their individual needs to help them achieve improved quality of life and a sense of independence.

The Occupational Therapy Assistant will concentrate on ameliorating the physical, mental, social and emotional sources of patients’ disabilities.

Job Description:

The Occupational Therapy Assistant COTA will perform all or some of the following Job description:

• The Occupational Therapy Assistant will perform individual patient care -- throughout the course of the day - meet with patients one-on-one to administer ongoing therapy

• He/She will meet with families and invite them to observe treatment sessions and get them involved so that they can provide reinforcement and follow-up

• The Occupational Therapy Assistant will perform documentation duty -complete and file all of the paperwork associated with his/her patients.           

• The Occupational Therapy Assistant should have the ability to practice therapy unencumbered within state regulations and federal guidelines
• He/She should have passion for working with diverse demographics
• Possess the ability to adapt quickly to new settings and situations
• The Occupational Therapy Assistant should be able to continue to hone and supplement his/her knowledge and expertise.
