The
Occupational Therapist
Assistant will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:
The
Occupational Therapist Assistant
will implement treatment programs
for improvement of physical,
psycho-social, or developmental
dysfunction and independence in
activities of daily living
He/She may modify treatment
procedures in accordance with
changes in patient status within the
scope of the treatment plan
established by an Occupational
Therapist
Arrange for provision of adaptive
equipment an/or splints to increase
patient independence in activities
of daily living
The
Occupational Therapist Assistant
will educate and instruct regarding
home programs and preventive
measures as appropriate to patient,
family, and others
Prepare written documentation as
required by the profession and the
department in a timely manner
Communicate with patient, family,
physician, and other healthcare
providers regarding patient care
The
Occupational Therapist Assistant
will maintain established
departmental policies and
procedures, objectives, quality
assurance program, safety,
environmental and infection control
standards
He/She will participate in
educational programs and in-services
and other meetings as required
Participate on special project teams
and other related duties as assigned
and required
The
Occupational Therapist Assistant
will perform other functions as
required.
The
Occupational Therapist Assistant
should have detailed knowledge of
Occupational Therapy in terms of
what and how work is to be done as
well as why it is done
He/She must demonstrate knowledge of
the principles of growth and
development over the life span of
patients served
The
Occupational Therapist Assistant
must have the ability to make varied
decisions
Must
possess the ability to determine
appropriate courses of action in
more complex situations that may not
be addressed by existing policies,
procedures or protocols
He/She should possess minimum of
less than 1 year experience
in Occupational Therapy.
