Job Summary:
The
Occupational Therapist will evaluate
patients, set goals, plan treatment
programs and treat patients according to
physician's orders. He/She will maintain
required records and notes on patient
care.
The
Occupational Therapist will assume
responsibility for patient charges;
provide technical advice to support
personnel and supervision of same.
He/She will Take initiative for
professional development and education
and maintain annual requirements. He/She
will complete assignments independently,
and foster an environment of teamwork,
quality and safety.Job
Description:
The
Occupational Therapist will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:

The
Occupational Therapist will evaluate
patients who have impairments,
functional limitations, disabilities
or changes in physical function and
health status resulting from injury,
disease, or other causes, and
synthesize the data to establish a
plan of care with therapeutic
interventions and goals appropriate
to patient's age and development
-
Document evaluations, treatments,
plan of care, charges, and discharge
summaries utilizing professional
jargon that supports skilled
therapeutic necessity and the
charges incurred in a concise and
timely manner
-
The
Occupational Therapist will
determine the efficacy of
therapeutic interventions,
technologies and outcomes and the
utilization of COTA's, students and
support personnel
-
He/She will supervise the daily
activities of the COTA, and support
personnel, in the provision of
patient care to facilitate desired
changes in patient function toward
stated goals
-
Interact and confer with a variety
of professionals including
physicians, nurses, case management,
PT's and SLP's to implement and
assess the intervention program
-
The
Occupational Therapist will provide
Director with constructive
suggestions to problem solve, assist
with maintaining productivity
standards and setting a positive
atmosphere for professional
development.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge /
Skill For Occupational Therapist Job
-
The Occupational Therapist should
possess one or more years of
experience in Occupational Therapy
Setting: Acute, Inpatient Rehab,
Pediatrics, Outpatient as
appropriate.
Minimum Education Requirements /
Certification / Licensure For
Occupational Therapist Job
-
Bachelors in Occupational Therapy
State Occupational Therapy License
issued by the State Board of
Occupational Therapy Examiners
Membership in the AOTA preferred.
