Job Summary:
The
Certified Occupational Therapist
Assistant (COTA) under the direction of
the individual physician's plan of care
and supervision of a physical therapist
will perform home occupational therapy
modalities and treatments, with
accompanying clinical documentation and
patient follow-up.
He/She will perform duties in accordance
of and under the direction/supervision
as defined by the Agency's
organizational chart.Job

Certified Occupational Therapist
Assistant will provide a variety of
services to patients, to include
coordination and implementation of
the clinical practice of
occupational therapy under the
supervision of an Occupational
Therapist

He/She will be responsible for
providing comprehensive diagnostic,
consultative, and/or treatment
services for patients with disorders
that cause impaired functioning in
activities of daily living
-
The
Certified Occupational Therapist
Assistant will conduct therapy
modalities designed to improve
patient quality of life.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge /

At
least one year clinical experience,
preferably in home healthcare.

The
Certified Occupational Therapist
Assistant must meet the requirements
for certification as an occupational
therapy assistant established by the
American Occupational Therapy
Association; or has 2 years of
appropriate experience as an
occupational therapy assistant, and
has achieved a satisfactory grade on
a proficiency examination conducted,
approved, or sponsored by the U.S.
Public Health Service, except that
such determinations of proficiency
do not apply with respect to persons
initially licensed by a state or
seeking initial qualification as an
occupational therapy assistant after
December 31. 1977 (Medicare
Conditions of Participation for Home
Health Agencies)

He/She
must be
licensed to practice occupational
therapy in the state of practice
Possess a current CPR card. Reliable
transportation, current driver's
license, and proof of auto
insurance.
