Job Description:

The Teaching Assistant will perform all or some of the following Job description:

• Assist the Lead Teacher in delivery of content area lessons

• Supervise students during play activity and team challenges

• Monitor and supervise students during transitional periods between activities

• Conduct small group facilitation

• Coach student teams toward successful completion of projects

• Facilitate minors based on program delivery needs

• Set up and coordination of necessary logistical classroom needs

• Communicate student progress and provide constructive feedback in a timely manner

• Respond to e-mail and telephone communications within 24 hours

• Provide written feedback to Lead Teacher and parents on children's progress during courses

• Participate in professional development opportunities deemed essential to the Program.

Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill For Teaching Assistant Job

• 0-3 years experience teaching or related field
• Commitment to the core value of a deep appreciation for children's capacity to learn and be creative
• Positive mindset and energetic personality
• Strong group facilitation skills
• Proficiency with the use of computer technology as they pertain to the essential functions of this position
• Ability to effectively and efficiently accomplish program goals in a timely manner
• Ability to complete multiple tasks with minimal supervision and work in an environment subject to interruptions
• Outstanding communication skills to include the ability to use clear, concise and grammatically correct written and oral language in all aspects of professional interaction with students, parents, peers, directors and the larger community.
