Job Description:

The Special Education Teacher - Elementary School will perform all or some of the following Job description:

  • Plan and provide for appropriate learning experiences for students

  • Supervise students in a variety of school-related settings

  • Monitor and evaluate student outcomes

  • Communicate and interact with students, parents, staff, and community

  • Develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students

  • Provide an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and the emotional development of children

  • Strive to maintain and improve professional competence

  • Maintain appropriate records and follow required procedures and practices

  • Monitor appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities

  • Attend meetings and serve on staff committees as required. 

Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill For Special Education Teacher - Elementary School Job

  • Ability to perform the above essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Minimum Education Requirements / Certification / Licensure For Special Education Teacher - Elementary School Job

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution

  • Eligible for a Standard Professional Certificate from the State Department of Education.
