Health Science Technology Teacher will
provide students with appropriate
learning activities and experiences
designed to fulfill their potential for
intellectual, emotional, physical, and
social growth. He/She will provide
opportunities that enable students to
develop competencies and skills to
function successfully in society.
Job
Description:
The
Health Science Technology Teacher will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:
Develop and implement plans for the
curriculum program assigned and show
written evidence of preparation as
required
Prepare lessons that reflect
accommodations/ modifications for
individual student differences and
request assistance necessary for
their modifications
Work
cooperatively with special education
teachers to modify curricula as
needed for special education
students according to guidelines
established by Individual Education
Plans (IEP) that have been provided
to the teacher
Present the subject matter according
to guidelines established by State
Education Agency, Board policies,
and administrative regulations
Participate in curriculum
development and revision and assist
in curriculum implementation
Cooperate with other members of the
staff in planning and implementing
instructional goals, objectives, and
methods according to district
requirements
Plan
and supervise appropriate
assignments for teacher assistant(s)
and/or volunteer(s)
Use
technologies in the
teaching/learning process as
appropriate
Assist students in analyzing and
improving methods and habits of
study as needed
Consistently assess student
achievement through formal,
informal, and varied assessment
measures
Assume responsibility for
extracurricular activities as
assigned and may sponsor outside
activities approved by the school
Create a classroom environment
conducive to learning and
appropriate to the physical, social,
and emotional development of
students
Manage
student behavior in the classroom,
on campus, at school events, and
administer discipline according to
Board policies, administrative
regulations, and IEP
Take
all necessary and reasonable
precautions to protect students,
equipment, materials, and facilities
Assist in the selection of books,
equipment, and other instructional
materials
Establish and maintain, in a timely
manner, open lines of communication
with students and their
parents/guardians
Use
acceptable communication skills to
present information accurately and
clearly
Maintain a professional relationship
with all colleagues, students,
parents, and community members
Participate in the district staff
development program
Assist in the development of grade
level/department budget
Compile, maintain, and file all
reports, records, and other
documents in compliance with local,
state, and federal requirements
Attend and participate in faculty
meetings and serve on staff
committees as required
Maintain
safety standards in conformance with
all rules, regulations, policies,
administrative and supervisory
directives
Perform other duties as assigned by
appropriate supervisor or
superintendent.

Valid
State teaching certificate, with
required endorsements for
subject/level assigned
Knowledge of subjects assigned
General knowledge of curriculum and
instruction
Necessary mechanical skills to
perform effectively in the
curriculum area served
Mental ability to communicate
(verbal and written), to instruct,
and to maintain appropriate and
professional demeanor
Demonstrated interest and initiative
in professional improvement,
including but not limited to,
workshops, seminars, and
professional readings
Demonstrated behavior that is
professional, ethical, and
responsible
Ability to

federal, state, district, and school

Minimum Education Requirements /
Certification / Licensure For
Health Science Technology Teacher
Job
Bachelor's degree from accredited
university or TEA approved
certification.
