The General Education Spanish Elementary Co-Teacher will be responsible for providing educational instruction to students within a learning community that ensures high academic achievement in English and Spanish, develops leadership, and values all cultures.

Job Description:

The General Education Spanish Elementary Co-Teacher will perform all or some of the following Job description:

• Provide instruction to students by creating a safe, nurturing, and intellectually challenging learning environment through a variety of co-teaching models based on student need

• Design classroom experiences and lessons with differentiated instruction levels so that all students access the curriculum, content, and concepts

• Formally and informally assess student progress using standards, formal assessments, informal assessments, and analyze the data to drive instructional decisions

• Work collaboratively with inclusion co-teacher, teaching and grade-level teams and other staff, especially instructional support team, to plan, share student work and ensure that instruction is aligned with identified curriculum and standards

• Complete individual student progress reports and conduct individual parent-teacher conferences on a quarterly basis and additionally as needed

• Attend all regularly scheduled team planning and evaluation meetings and staff development sessions, including quarterly Saturday staff development sessions

• Participate collaboratively and professionally with parents and other staff to promote the general health and well-being of all students

• Build a partnership with families, encouraging their active participation in students’ learning

• Promote respect for culturally and linguistically diverse families and children.

Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill For General Education Spanish Elementary Co-Teacher Job

• Two or more years of experience (preferably in an urban or culturally diverse setting)
• Bilingual preferred but not required (Spanish/English)
• Demonstrated ability to work with students and families from diverse backgrounds.
