Job Summary:
The
Chemistry Teacher
will be responsible for instructing the
chemistry curriculum in the high school,
including advanced and introductory
chemistry classes.

Description:
The
Chemistry Teacher will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:
-
Teaching load of up to five classes
(45 minutes per class meeting, each
class meets five days per week)
-
Coach
or work directly with other
afternoon activities (afternoon
program, drama, community service,
etc.) for two of three athletic
seasons
-
Work
with 8-10 advisees
-
Regularly develop and instruct
term-length elective classes in area
of expertise
-
Prepare a weekly written lesson plan
describing daily learning
experiences. This weekly lesson plan
is to be correlated with the aims
and/or objectives in the curriculum
guide and/or course outline
-
Monitor and assess student progress
and communicate the same on a
regular basis to students and their
parents
-
Diagnose, instruct and evaluate
specific student needs and seek
assistance of district specialist as
required.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge /
Skill For Chemistry Teacher Job
-
Three years’ experience teaching
high school students in a
laboratory-based curriculum
-
Engaging, critical thinking, problem
solving, and inquiry-based labs
-
Experience teaching Chemistry,
including college prep, honors and
AP.
