There are
different Scheduler Job Descriptions,
depending on the kind of job to be done.
Example: Scheduler Job Description
The
Scheduler will perform all or some of
the following Job description:
The
Scheduler will be responsible for the
development, updating, and maintenance
of project schedules and associated
resource plans. He/She will be
responsible for one discipline area with
minimal supervision.
He/She
will coach and/or provide support to
junior schedulers within assigned
discipline; communicate any scheduling
issues to the Lead Scheduler and suggest
options for resolution; determine
primary time table for deliverables with
minimal supervision from others.
The
Scheduler will assist in coordinating
with disciplines to gain project team
agreement; determine scope of changes
and impacts with minimal supervision;
sequence major work priorities into a
logical schedule with minimal
supervision.
He/She
will understand critical paths that
anchor the overall project completion
date; modify critical paths based on
Lead Scheduler's input; assist in
developing workarounds to overcome
obstacles in the critical path.
The
Scheduler will integrate, review, and
conduct initial validation of critical
path relationships; calculate total
float to report the critical path;
provide options for overcoming negative
critical path impacts; identify Company
resource constraints and communicate to
Lead Scheduler.
He/She
will integrate constraints into project
schedule and report schedule impacts to
Lead Scheduler; coordinate with
Estimating and Construction to determine
work durations by commodity; evaluate
durations against historical or similar
projects with minimal supervision.
The
Scheduler will input scheduling data
into Primavera 6; collect and input
progress updates; update remaining
durations.
