The Grocery Sales Representative is responsible for handling direct sales to assigned accounts, contributing to the sales strategy, tactics and relationship building with key national accounts which support the Sales and business strategy. 

The Grocery Sales Representative will perform all or some of the following Job description:

• Direct sales responsibility to develop/grow key targeted grocery accounts maximizing margins and achieving preferred supplier status

• Communicate appropriate market info to division/sales teams

• Maintain account plans and updates

• Define/achieve budgeted volume and margin, including managing Adjusted Gross margins (AGMs), that align with the business units objectives

• Work effectively with cross functional teams

• Be an active participant in customer based solutions

• Evaluate in conjunction with Marketing all customer satisfaction measures, assess customer satisfaction

• Assist in updating of grocery segment strategic sales plans

• Provide intelligence to anticipate industry trends and competitive moves

• Responsible for contributing to execution of Company Sales plan along with the strategic pricing manager

• Responsible to Demand Planning for providing accurate demand forecast for individual accounts upon request

• Write and submit reports as required

• Actively monitor/administer contract management

• Initiate/be an active participant in any appropriate projects or strategy work. 

Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill For Grocery Sales Representative Job

•  2 years food industry experience

• Demonstrated effective customer relations skills- good communication, written and verbal, relationship building skills

• Demonstrated effective presentation skills

• Demonstrated effective negotiation skills

• Demonstrated effective team player; good coaching technique

• Demonstrated effective strategic thinker, goal oriented, self starter, creative

• Demonstrated computer skills

• Demonstrated understanding of commercial issues

• Previous sales experience

• Working knowledge of grains and market trading.
