Business Banker - Sales Job Description

 

 

 

 

Job Summary:

The Business Banker - Sales is responsible for executing integrated sales, service and relationship strategies to support growth, relationship deepening, and retention of small business customers

He/She will proactively sourcing and expanding business banking customer relationships by maximizing Financial Center-based sales opportunities and ensuring customer retention

The Business Banker - Sales will probe within customer base for needs and opportunities to cross-sell to other business segments.

Job Description:

The Business Banker - Sales will perform all or some of the following Job description:

  • The Business Banker - Sales will achieve customer acquisition and relationship deepening sales goals for small business customers by acquiring new business through business development activities including but not limited to referrals from existing clients and outbound activities (e.g. out-of-branch business development, prospect calling)

  • The Business Banker - Sales will expand  existing relationships through needs-based selling; outreaching to community / centers of influence; meeting both small business and personal banking needs of business customers

  • The Business Banker - Sales will utilize effective calling techniques and lead management to generate new small business customers from branch-based top customer lists and other targeted lead lists including prospect leads

  • He/She will work with branch team to execute the branch's small business plan

  • Support small business sales blitzes and on-going business development including place-of-business visits, and referral/network development

  • Effectively leverage marketing campaigns and new product launches to drive sales activities and fulfill customer needs

  • The Business Banker - Sales will provide ongoing coaching to Branch staff to effectively identify referral opportunities

  • Partner with other areas (e.g., commercial banking , mortgage, PWM) to ensure ongoing communication with regard to existing and future customer needs

  • The Business Banker - Sales will meet activity standards and goals to achieve branch score card goals

  • Proactively contact existing small business customers to expand and deepen relationship and ensure all financial service needs are met

  • Maintain customer advocacy and client retention by providing exceptional customer service in every customer transaction

  • The Business Banker - Sales will drive efforts in the Branch to identify and implement service behaviors that improve the overall customer experience

  • He/She will own customer issues - resolve customer issues promptly and effectively

  • The Business Banker - Sales will establish and maintain strong relationships with branch staff, Commercial Business Relationship Managers and Business Development Officers

  • The Business Banker - Sales will ensure smooth on-boarding of all business branch clients

  • He/She will proactively communicate regarding customer opportunities and service situations

  • Serve as primary interface to support Business and Commercial customer servicing needs including relationship-managed customers within the Branch

  • The Business Banker - Sales will provide commercial clients in branch (Tiers 0-3) with essential information to help manage accounts including available access channels (e.g. ATM, Online, phone support)

  • He/She will create a warm, welcoming and friendly environment for customers and employees

  • Foster teamwork in the branch to ensure a positive customer experience

  • Support sales/service activities within the Branch by participating in seminars, micromarketing events, promotional campaigns, product initiatives, etc

  • The Business Banker - Sales will refer sales opportunities to others within the Branch and other partners as appropriate

  • He/She will adhere to operational controls, including legal, corporate, and regulatory procedures to ensure the safety and security of customer and bank assets.

Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill For Business Banker - Sales Job

  • The Business Banker - Sales should have experience and track record of success in business-to-business sales, outbound sales, generating sales leads and building a referral network, create a sales plan and executing against individual sales goals

  • He/She should have experience in Small Business Banking

  • Customer service orientation

  • The Business Banker - Sales must have a positive attitude

  • The Business Banker - Sales should have the ability to motivate and influence others

  • He/She should have excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills

  • The Business Banker - Sales should possess Financial/business acumen

  • He/She should have basic computer skills.

Minimum Education Requirements / Certification / Licensure For Business Banker - Sales Job

  • The Business Banker - Sales should possess High school diploma/GED
  • Bachelor's degree in business (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
