Registration Receptionist Job Description

 

 

 

Job Summary:

The Registration Receptionist will be responsible for implementing clerical duties to assist in the delivery of the highest quality healthcare to patients.

Job Description:

The Registration Receptionist will perform all or some of the following Job description:

  • Connect patients to better health by providing timely and accurate service in the areas of registration, co-pay receipt, cash collection and receipt generation, appointment scheduling, and referral/pre-authorization approval

  • Assist fellow employees in identifying ways to exceed customer expectations

  • Practice methods to provide consistent, superior customer experiences to individuals of all age groups and backgrounds. 

Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill For Registration Receptionist Job

  • One year health care experience or two years' customer service experience
  • Insurance experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including spelling and grammar
  • Self-directed and motivated
  • Ability to work with little supervision
  • Ability to exemplify customer service skills when working with all customers, including physicians, nurses, clinical staff, and most importantly, the patients
  • Ability to handle flexibility, change, stress pressure and to relay information clearly and accurately even under these conditions.

Minimum Education Requirements / Certification / Licensure For Registration Receptionist Job

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (or other medical specialty-based certification) preferred.
