Registered Radiology Technologist Job Description

 

 

 

Job Summary:

The Registered Radiology Technologist will be responsible for performing Radiology exams and Fluoroscopic procedures on patients of all ages. He/She will maintain patients' safety.

Job Description:

The Registered Radiology Technologist will perform all or some of the following Job description:

  • The Registered Radiology Technologist will perform general radiology, portable, and fluoroscopic procedures (GIs, GUs, pediatrics, arthrograms, spine center)

  • He/She will produce images of optimal quality for interpretation with accuracy and without delay

  • Maintain documentation requirements to ensure that all technical data is entered timely and accurately

  • The Registered Radiology Technologist will notify management and take proper action to address equipment malfunctions

  • Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation

  • The Registered Radiology Technologist will ensure patients' comfort and safety during and after the exam

  • Assist with scheduling patient procedures

  • Monitor and determine priority of patients

  • The Registered Radiology Technologist will demonstrate the care and operation of Radiology equipment according to technical specifications and applications

  • He/She will assist Radiologist with fluoroscopic, GU, GI, and pediatric procedures

  • The Registered Radiology Technologist may be required to rotate through all diagnostic imaging modalities, sites and/or locations

  • He/She will perform other duties as assigned.            

Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill For Registered Radiology Technologist Job

  • The Registered Radiology Technologist should be knowledgeable in acquiring, archiving, transmitting, and printing images via PACS
  • When applicable, he/she should be knowledgeable in after hours transmission of images and appropriate paperwork
  • The Registered Radiology Technologist should report immediately any malfunctions to help desk and PACS Administrator
  • Possess knowledge in billing via RIS
  • Provide instruction/mentoring to new hires and Radiology students
  • The Registered Radiology Technologist should continually strive to learn new technical information and skills through attendance of periodic in-service programs and participation in professional affiliation sessions
  • He/She should possess minimum one year experience as a General Radiologic Technologist
  • He/She must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily   

Minimum Education Requirements / Certification / Licensure For Registered Radiology Technologist Job

  • Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology
  • ARRT Registered Technologist
  • RT(R) in good standing
  • CPR certification.
