Job Summary:
The
Radiologic Technologist will be
responsible for performing general
diagnostic radiographs, operating
imaging equipment and developing film.
He/She will prepare patient's room,
equipment, supplies, and medications.
The

The
Radiologic Technologist will assist the
practitioner with examinations,
procedures, and other duties
-
Responsible for assessing, screening and
triaging patients and for maintaining
medical records. Limited administration
of medications per orientation and
training designation
-
Responsible for patient call backs;
scheduling physician referrals;
obtaining insurance information for
specialist’s referrals and pharmacy
issues, patient’s education and
maintaining finalized radiologist
dictation reports
-
The
Radiologic Technologist will be
responsible for preparing exam rooms,
decontamination of equipment, and
stocking of supplies
-
Collect
and document vital signs. Collect and
prepare specimens for laboratory
analysis. Assess and properly handle lab
results
-
He/She
will attend facility in-services and
required staff trainings and meetings
-
The
Radiologic Technologist will be
responsible for performing accurate
routine x-rays that assist with patient
diagnosis. Will practice radiation
safety precautions to maintain the
lowest levels of radiation exposure dose
for both you and the patient

Responsible for preparing and sending
over-reads as well as reporting the
over-read results to providers
-
The
Radiologic Technologist will perform
basic maintenance and repair of the
radiographic tube and digital equipment.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge /
Skill For Radiologic Technologist Job

The
Radiologic Technologist should be able
to work under moderate direction from
the supervisor or manager
-
He/She
should have experience working in a
clinical setting
-
At least
two (2) years experience with routine
radiography is preferred
-
Knowledge
of operation and maintenance of the
equipment and demonstrated ability to
work independently
-
Possess
knowledge of the principles and
processes for providing customer and
personal services. This includes
customer needs assessment, meeting
quality standards for services, and
evaluation of customer satisfaction
-
The
Radiologic Technologist should possess
knowledge of applicable federal, state
and local laws and regulations including
the requirements of the HIPAA and OSHA
and applicable state rules and
regulations pertinent to medical
practices
-
Knowledge
of computerized information systems used
in business applications and clinical
management systems (EMR) and digital
imaging equipment
-
Knowledge
of accreditation and certification
requirements and the ability to maintain
all appropriate licenses
-
The
Radiologic Technologist should have the
ability to respond to requests and
inquiries from the general public in
person and over the telephone
-
Exercise
tact and diplomacy in dealing with
sensitive, complex and confidential
patient issues and situations
-
Establish
and maintain effective working
relationships with those contacted in
the course of work
-
The
Radiologic Technologist should be able
to learn computer software programs;
enter and maintain accurate data and
statistical information in order to
consistently prepare clear and concise
reports, correspondence and other
written materials

He/She
should be able to stand and sit for
hours at a time
-
He/She
must be able to use manual dexterity in
relation to clinical requirements
-
He/She
must pass registry within two years of
graduation. Once registered, must
maintain registered status

The
Radiologic Technologist should have good
interpersonal and verbal communication
skills to assist patients in the x-ray
process and explain procedures
-
Ability
to work effectively with patients of all
ages
-
Ability
to lift up to 50 pounds to assist and
move patients.
Minimum Education Requirements /
Certification / Licensure For Radiologic
Technologist Job

High
school diploma or equivalent
-
Graduation from Radiologic
Technology Program and/or registry
eligible or registered
-
Current state licensure (if
applicable) and CPR certification
preferred
-
Current American Registry of
Radiologic Technologist (A.R.R.T.)
registration and continued
compliance with the continuing
education standards set forth by the
A.R.R.T.
