The Production Planner will be responsible for coordinating and planning activities related to the production and materials release schedule and forecast. He/She will perform daily production planning, material release planning and expedition.

The Production Planner will be responsible for scheduling the product flow throughout the manufacturing process and ensuring timely completion of manufacturing orders by ensuring availability of resources.

Job Description:

The Production Planner will perform all or some of the following Job description:

• The Production Planner will meet with the Focus Factory Manager & Program Manager to understand the priorities related to the demand forecast

• Establish & review the production schedule to ensure customer commitments are met

• The Production Planner will understand overall capacity loading requirements and needs of Factory

• Monitor production schedule performance to ensure the demand forecast is on track

• Monitor the status of material usage variances to ensure discrepancies are understood & communicated to the Factory Manager

• The Production Planner will assist in the coordination of Material Handler activities to ensure inventory needs are communicated

• Expedite material releases & production schedules to communicate the changing needs of the Factory

• The Production Planner will communicate part availability concerns with Procurement and Customer Management to effectively resolve issues.          

• The Production Planner should have one year experience assuming education requirements are met
• He/She should have three or more years equivalent industry experience
• The Production Planner must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
• He/She must possess good written and communication, organizational and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to take a proactive approach, and take ownership for all activities related to the success of the Factory in order to ensure successful operations
• The Production Planner must work safely at all times and maintain confidentiality of all company and customer information.
