Job Summary:
The
Production Planner will be
responsible for performing duties
centered on the material
planning/scheduling process as it
impacts the manufacturing operations
He/She will be
responsible for the maintenance and
evaluation of Scheduler/MRP along with
processing of work orders and/or
purchase orders as it relates to
fabricated parts.
The
Production Planner will also be
responsible for the coordination of
out-bound Logistics to include the
management of the Lean Pull Part System.Job
Description:
The
Production Planner will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:
-
The
Production Planner will process
Scheduler/MRP reports for Braun
fabricated parts. This entails running
the Scheduler/MRP reports multiple times
each week, evaluating the
recommendations and issuing work orders
with all appropriate drawings required.
It is the responsibility of the
Production Planner to review drawings
being distributed, to ensure the latest
revision has been pulled for
distribution

Pick up
completed work orders from the
production floor, review and issue
appropriate materials and receive
completed stock
-
Review
and re-file or toss any associated
drawings
-
The
Production Planner will process Material
Movement Forms and log/track as
required; to include twice monthly
review meetings with Product Managers
covering any delinquent forms
-
Run
Dispatch Report and follow up with
Production Supervisors to know issues
with regards to past due work orders.
This will act as a reminder to
Production that they need to get work
orders completed and turned in " not
just at Physical Inventory time
-
The
Production Planner will be responsible
for running the Negative Inventory
report for Fabricated and Purchased
parts on a daily basis and work with
appropriate purchasing and production
personnel to correct any open issues
that may be caused by inaccurate
inventories. Discrepancy corrections
need to be made on a timely basis not to
exceed two business days from the day
that any work order is closed out

Print the
Unissued Material Fab Parts (Access
Report) to clean up any materials not
yet issued to Fabrication Work Orders
(to include Customer Ship-Out Work
Orders) at a minimum of twice weekly
-
The
Production Planner will review order
quantities and order policies with the
objective to balance manufacturing
efficiencies with inventory levels "
Safety Stocks, Re-Order Quantities &
Lead-Times. This also includes
identifying and implementing parts that
would benefit by having an intermediate
build-to level
He/She
will be responsible for Capacity
Planning and yield reporting
The
Production Planner will
follow
implementation of new Scheduler within
the current ERP System, purchasing
responsibilities may apply
Perform
shipping process for all machine
shipments. Process includes coordinating
with customer on the delivery of the
equipment, selecting a transportation
carrier, generating and printing
Shipping Labels, Bills of Lading and any
required Export Documents. Also includes
the execution of the Visual shipping
transactions
The
Production Planner will
perform
final review of all machine orders, the
day of shipment to verify all materials
are fully issued. Communicate any
problems that were found in this review
to the appropriate functions immediately
Pick up,
review and issue all completed machine
pick lists. Evaluate closed operations
for missing pick lists using available
Access Report
The
Production Planner will
process
Material Movement Forms and log/track as
required; to include twice monthly
review meetings with
Product Managers covering any
delinquent forms
Provide
backup to
Master Scheduler for quoting freight
rates
Provide
backup to
Master Scheduler by running
Production Meetings where required
The
Production Planner will
generate
and enter part numbers for Purchased
parts, ensuring that fields are
populated with accurate information, on
a timely basis as called out in the
appropriate work instruction. This
process also includes populating
necessary fields for all fabricated part
numbers which are generated for the
Engineering group
Support
all areas of Materials and Manufacturing
to print labels for Parts and Shelves
Support
Physical Inventory function
The
Production Planner will
review
and update all owned or co-owned Quality
Management System documents within two
years of latest revisions
The
Production Planner will perform
other
duties and special projects as assigned.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge /
Skill For Production Planner Job
-
The
Production Planner should have two years
of appropriate purchasing experience in
a manufacturing environment
-
Possess
knowledge
and use of MRP, production planning and
inventory planning.
Minimum Education Requirements /
Certification / Licensure For
Production Planner Job

Associates degree (A.A) with at least
five years appropriate experience in a
manufacturing environment or Minimum of
a Bachelors degree with at least 2 years
appropriate experience in a
manufacturing environment.
