Meeting & Event Planner Job Description

 

 

 

Job Summary:

The Meeting & Event Planner, reporting to the Manager of Meeting Planning (Process Manager), under the leadership of the Director of Global Mobility, Travel & Meeting Planning (Process Owner), will be responsible for planning and executing business meetings and events.

Job Description:

The Meeting & Event Planner will perform all or some of the following Job description:

  • The Meeting & Event Planner will coordinate, facilitate and manage all travel, meeting, and special event activities for all business groups within the enterprise

  • He/She will provide proactive consultation on related budgetary and logistic issues to senior business leaders, managers and associates

  • The Meeting & Event Planner will conduct negotiations and maintain relations directly with vendors relating to all travel, meeting and event activities (excluding airfare)

  • Provide post-event reporting and analysis to meeting sponsors, business and HR leadership

  • The Meeting & Event Planner will make limited travel (10-20%) to site locations for special events

  • He/She will occasional extended hours when required by early morning or evening meetings and events.           

Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill For Meeting & Event Planner Job

  • The Meeting & Event Planner must have a minimum 3 years of project management experience
  • He/She  should demonstrate ability to adapt quickly to technology and on-line tools
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and web/internet technology skills
  • The Meeting & Event Planner should present professional appearance and demeanor
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • The Meeting & Event Planner should be results driven, and detail oriented
  • He/She should have a proven ability to build relationships and provide excellent service
  • The Meeting & Event Planner should be able to use his/her business knowledge to develop and manage special cross-functional projects
  • He/She should possess prior corporate event and meeting planning experience.    

Minimum Education Requirements / Certification / Licensure For Meeting & Event Planner Job

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • PMP and/or Six Sigma certification
  • CMP/CMM certification a plus.
