Job Summary:
The
Meeting & Event Planner will be
responsible for assisting the events
department by organizing and planning
conferences and trade shows for domestic
& International clients. Job
Description:
The
Meeting & Event Planner will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:
He/She
will perform food & beverage selection
The
Meeting & Event Planner will
coordinate AV requirements, collect
speaker biographies and sponsor details
He/She
will
hire
local support staff, and create event
materials
He/She
will perform
onsite
management and will maintain
relationships with all clients and
vendors
The
Meeting & Event Planner
duties
will also include site inspections,
preparing event timelines and managing
event budgets.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge /
Skill For Meeting & Event Planner Job
-
The
Meeting & Event Planner must have 2
years of meeting or event planning
experience
-
Hotel
catering and convention services
experience is a bonus
-
He/She
must have strong PC skills with software
experience in Microsoft Word and Excel
-
The
Meeting & Event Planner must be able to
use
a PC
extensively, especially the ability to
create and maintain spreadsheets
-
The
Meeting & Event Planner
must be
extremely detail oriented and be able to
juggle multiple projects at one time and
think creatively
-
He/She
must have the ability to deal
professionally and effectively with
vendors, clients and company management
-
The
Meeting & Event Planner
must
possess a cooperative personality for a
fast-paced deadline driven environment

He/She
must be
flexible.
Minimum Education Requirements /
Certification / Licensure For
Meeting & Event Planner Job

Degree in
business, marketing, meeting management,
public relations, communications, or
hospitality
-
Convention Industry Council’s Certified
Meeting Professional certificate will be
a plus.
