Job Summary:
The
Emergency Management Planner will be
responsible for providing support to
Children's hospital department in
initiating and oversight of emergency
management. He/She will promote
continuous learning, ongoing education
and assist in implementation of
strategic plans for ongoing emergency
preparedness. Job

The
Emergency Management Planner will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:

The
Emergency Management Planner will
participate in developing and
recommending business continuity
planning
-
Maintain
inventory and accounting of expenditures
related to HRSA emergency preparedness
grant funds or other fiscal
opportunities related to emergency
preparedness
-
The
Emergency Management Planner will
represent the Hospital with external
partners and meet with internal
stakeholders to assure proper guidance,
communication and directions are aligned
with the Hospital Emergency Management
Program
He/She
will support ongoing educational
opportunities for staff by maintaining
an up-to-date website and publishing the
quarterly EM Newsletter
Provide
technical and program support for the
implementation of emergency management
and business continuity educational
programs, including training of
executives, directors and key leaders
The
Emergency Management Planner will
serve as
coordinator of the Decon Team; ensure
team members and processes are compliant
with OSHA standards related to
healthcare decontamination
Responsible for ensuring all Hospital
departmental disaster plans are on file,
disaster rosters are up-to-date and
updated Emergency Management
Policies/Procedures are maintained on
the intranet
The
Emergency Management Planner will
assist
with the coordination and execution
hospital-wide emergency preparedness
drills, one of which must include a
coordinated response with external
community partners
Assist in
facilitating after-action critiques and
development of corrective actions
The
Emergency Management Planner will
serve as
in-house liaison officer with executives
in the Command Center during a declared
disaster.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge /
Skill For Emergency Management Planner Job

The
Emergency Management Planner should have
knowledge of emergency preparedness at
the state, local and national level

Possess knowledge of
legislative process, agenda and
appropriate community resources for
emergency preparedness

Knowledge
of
hospital
emergency preparedness and management
-
The
Emergency Management Planner should
possess
the
ability to develop strong relationships
with Hospital community leadership to
assure appropriate compliance with
policies related to emergency
preparedness and management
-
He/She
must have
basic
computer skills, including Word and
Excel.
Minimum Education Requirements /
Certification / Licensure For
Emergency Management Planner Job
-
Bachelor's degree with a minimum three
(3) years experience related to
emergency preparedness and management
-
Additional experience may be substituted
for Bachelor's degree
-
Must
possess, or within the first six months
of employment, achieve DHS/FEMA IS-100,
IS-200, IS-700 and IS-800 course
certifications.
