Job Summary:
The
Disaster Recovery Planner under general
direction will be responsible for
developing Disaster Recovery concept of
operations, impact assessments, plans
and procedural guidelines.
He/She will be a
Senior
Disaster Recovery subject matter expert
and manager for Organization's
facilities and continuity of operations
requirements. The
Disaster Recovery Planner will
articulate all aspects of systems
requirements and facility Disaster
Recovery processes to both technicians
and the customers. He/She will perform
project management for projects related
to DR subject matter, as assigned.

The
Disaster Recovery Planner will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:

The
Disaster Recovery Planner will provide
inputs, reviews and coordinates on site
Continuity of Operations and DR plans
-
Conduct
business impact analyses and assist
company units to determine critical
business processes, identify acceptable
recovery time periods, and establish
resources required for the successful
resumption of business operations in the
event of a disaster
-
The
Disaster Recovery Planner will
coordinate the efforts of staff members
in different functional areas in the
development of procedures for the
continuity of business processes in a
disaster situation
-
Develop
estimates and advise customer and site
senior managers on impact, requirements
and resources (personnel, technical and
facility) needed for DR readiness
-
The
Disaster Recovery Planner will establish
disaster recovery testing methodologies;
plan and coordinate the testing of
recovery support and business resumption
procedures in different functional
areas. Assure that recovery procedures
are effective for the restoration of key
corporate resources and for the
resumption of critical business
processes
-
Develop
and manage enterprise emergency response
procedures; distribute and update
emergency procedures to reflect changes
in staff size, location, organization,
and home office facilities
-
The
Disaster Recovery Planner will monitor
the effectiveness of procedures during
evacuation drills and revise the
procedures as necessary
Maintain
a library of emergency response
procedures
He/She
will
direct
recovery support and data center
resumption staff during a disaster in
the implementation of response and
alternate operating strategies
The
Disaster Recovery Planner will
work with
vendors of disaster recovery services
and facilities; study and recommend
outside services for use during a
disaster situation
Establish
and maintain contact with outside
organizations participating in
reciprocal agreements
Maintain
contact with outside contingency
planning professional organizations and
local/regional emergency response groups
The
Disaster Recovery Planner will
assist
with related management tasks and
analytical activities as directed by
supervisor.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge /
Skill For Disaster Recovery Planner Job

The
Disaster Recovery Planner should possess
Security+
TS/SCI Clearance -
Strong
experience and ability to manage
Disaster Recovery planning activities,
assessments, and execution
-
10 years
of experience in the following technical
areas: disaster recovery management,
risk assessment, system recovery
procedures, disaster recovery/crisis
management planning, and security
-
The
Disaster Recovery Planner should have
experience in information technology
services, data center facility
management, IT systems continuity of
operations, recovery services, and risk
management
-
He/She
should have knowledge of systems
integration, network operations, or
systems management.
Minimum Education Requirements /
Certification / Licensure For

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
experience
-
ITIL V3
Foundation Certification
-
Disaster
Recovery Planner/Expert certification.
