Job Summary:
The
Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) will
perform and demonstrate proficiency and
understanding in one or more areas of
the clinical laboratory, assist in
instructing other personnel as assigned
and perform with a perceptive depth of
clinical laboratory tests and procedures
which require the exercise of
independent judgment and responsibility.Job

The
Medical Laboratory Technician will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:

The
Medical Laboratory Technician will
perform tests of samples of blood, urine
and other body fluids to obtain
information utilized in diagnosis and
evaluation of a patient's medical
situation

Participate in performance improvement
activities to assure continuous quality
improvement

The
Medical Laboratory Technician will
maintain cultural and diversity
awareness when dealing with patients,
visitors, co-workers and all other
customers

Promote a
supportive, team-work oriented

Minimum Requirements / Knowledge /
Skill For Medical Laboratory Technician Job
The
Medical Laboratory Technician should
have minimum one year of laboratory
experience in a hospital environment
He/She
must be able to prioritize
responsibilities and handle multiple
tasks simultaneously
He/She
should demonstrate awareness of
consequences for reporting errors
The
Medical Laboratory Technician should
have the ability to work under emergency
conditions
Possess
the
ability to maintain attention to details
for extended periods of time.
Minimum Education Requirements /
Certification / Licensure For
Medical Laboratory Technician Job
-
Associates Degree in Medical Laboratory
Technology or qualify as testing
personnel under CLIA '88
-
ASCP, NCA
or AMT certification.
