Senior Marketing Analyst Job Description

 

 

 

Job Summary:

The Senior Marketing Analyst will be responsible for measuring and analyzing projects in support of marketing initiatives. He/She will work closely with management and business partners to capture program goals and determine appropriate measurement approach.

The Senior Marketing Analyst will evaluate results within the context of the business problem to be solved as well as the impact to the business and makes recommendations accordingly. He/She will communicate analytical results to non-technical audiences in clear and concise format.

Job Description:

The Senior Marketing Analyst will perform all or some of the following Job description:

  • Project Management: Wholly manage analytical projects, including working with vendors (if necessary) and internal business partners to manage scope, expectations and deliverables

  • Planning: Develop test strategy and measurement plan to meet program objectives as well as keep methodology in line with problem complexity and business priority

  • Contribute to yearly strategic planning, and ongoing tactical decisions with internal business partners

  • Analysis/Presentation/Communication: Provide in-depth analysis for identified programs, as well as quicker, diagnostic measurement where applicable

  • Utilize statistical techniques if necessary. Make strategic recommendations for future program enhancements based on learnings

  • Analyze within and across program trends to develop learning

  • Take complex data issues, methodologies and analysis results and communicate/present them to business partners in a manner that is relevant, meaningful, actionable, and understandable

  • Thought Leadership: Provide thought leadership within the Marketing Effectiveness group including identifying and incorporating best practices in methodology, process, and communication to raise impact of analysis provided

  • Databases/Tools/Data: Work with other business partners, and provide guidance/feedback on database requirements

  • Mentor and oversee the work of other analysts who work with data. Also serves as requirements expert for databases and key analytic tools utilized by the analysis group

  • Understand Company internal systems, tools and data to the extent required to perform the job

  • Pull information via Brio/SAS from Company's databases in order to answer ad hoc questions regarding program performance

  • Process Improvement: Support efforts to improve measurement capabilities (technical projects, process improvements, usage strategy, industry best practices). Develop templates and documents processes relevant to marketing measurement and analysis

  • Personal Development: Stay abreast of industry trends and new techniques in DM measurement and reporting including training and personal time. 

Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill For Senior Marketing Analyst Job

  • 4+ years experience, focused on analytical work. Marketing analysis experience a plus

  • Proven leadership ability with strong client relationship skills

  • Ability to effectively interface with Senior Management

  • Strong quantitative skills required

  • Excellent business judgment and ability to recognize business implications of data

  • Extensive experience with test design, reporting and analysis design, and measurement strategy development

  • Competence in database marketing techniques including familiarity with statistical methods including analytic segmentation, statistical modeling, as well as indirect measurement techniques such as Yield Loss research and pre-market testing

  • Effective oral and written skills, including use of compelling visuals to effectively communicate challenging or technical concepts

  • Computer skills (Windows NT, UNIX), programming SAS, Excel, and knowledge of charting and graphics packages desirable

  • SQL skills required, Brio skills a plus

  • Financial Services background a plus

  • Project and time management skills with an ability to set and maintain priorities in a fast moving environment

  • Ability to extract, manage, and work with large and complex data sets.

Minimum Education Requirements / Certification / Licensure For Senior Marketing Analyst Job

  • BS/BA Economics, Mathematics, Management Science, Operations Research, or Statistics
  • MBA or MS/MA in Economics, Management Science, Operations Research, or Statistics a plus.
