Marketing Development Manager-Public Sector Job Description

 

 

 

Job Summary:

The Marketing Development Manager-Public Sector will assist the Company qin driving growth in multiple segments of the market including: Local, State and Federal Government, as well as non-profit and higher education.

He/She will assist in the development of vertical and sub-vertical go-to-market strategies, build outbound marketing plans with a particular focus on messaging, enabling the Company sales force through deal support, training and sales tools and act as a point of contact with external entities such as trade associations, the press, and analysts.

Job Description:

The Marketing Development Manager-Public Sector will perform all or some of the following Job description:

  • Monitor the market

  • Perform insightful market research

  • Make recommendations

  • Assist senior leadership in the development of go-to-market strategies

  • Work with Corporate Marketing to develop annual marketing plans including program development and event strategy

  • Develop the messaging for the Public Sector

  • Enable sales to be successful

  • Assist individual sales executives in preparing for prospect engagement

  • Provide content for impactful training

  • Develop easy to use and meaningful sales tools

  • Assist with RFP management

  • Coordinate and maintain communication link between the field and corporate (e.g. portals, newsletters, training webinars, team calls)

  • Assist Director – Public Sector Marketing with external evangelism

  • Develop relationships with appropriate trade associations

  • Assist with creation and editing of press releases

  • Support analyst relations

  • Enhance connection with existing customers. 

Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill For Marketing Development Manager-Public Sector Job

  • 5+ years of professional work experience
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong research skills
  • Strong writing skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to “roll up your sleeves”
  • Professional presentation skills and ability to easily interact with customers and prospects
  • Ability to analyze trends in the Public Sector markets, interpret how Company can react to and take advantage of changes, and translate into actions through strategies, tactics and messages
  • Domain knowledge from working with or for the Public Sector
  • Software industry experience.

Minimum Education Requirements / Certification / Licensure For Marketing Development Manager-Public Sector Job

  • MBA.
