Job Summary:
The
Facility Manager
will be responsible for running
warehouse facility day-to-day operation,
managing the organization of the
facility, and working both inbound and
outbound shipments.
Job
Description:
The
Facility Manager will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:

The
Facility Manager will train team
members, plan, assign and direct work,
appraise performance, reward and
discipline team members, address
complaints and resolve problems -
He/She will
develop
and maintain standard operating
procedures for all aspects of the
business
Supervise
staff to ensure company procedures and
employee policies are followed
The
Facility Manager will
keep
abreast of relevant changes within the
operations and fulfillment space
regarding new technological
developments, industry trends and best
of breed practices
He/She
will continuously evaluate processes and
examining technology opportunities
Manage
all in-bound and out-bound freight,
warehousing and order fulfillment
according to a daily production
schedule, as well as the relationships
with the various carriers
The
Facility Manager will
evaluate
staffing levels to ensure adequate
resources are available for daily
activities
Ensure
that the overall facility is clean and
presentable at all times
Maintain
all necessary supplies (toiletries,
coffee, tea etc) are on hand to maintain
a sanitary clean comfortable working
environment
The
Facility Manager will
assist
the President / C.O.O in the overall
planning and coordination of equipment
and logistics needs
The
Facility Manager will
ensure
that all customer orders are pulled
accurately, staged correctly and shipped
on time
Review
warehouse procedures and space layout
and make recommendations for
improvements to enhance operational
efficiencies
He/She
will
ensure
that the warehouse is kept in an orderly
fashion
The
Facility Manager will
track and
restock warehouse consumables and
materials
The
Facility Manager will
assist
inventory control with shipping and
returning orders as required
He/She
will be
responsible for compliance to all
corporate and government audits
Prepare,
analyze and oversee the distribution
center financial performance including
budget and profit & loss
The
Facility Manager will
assist
with the solicitation, diversification
and expansion of third party inventory
maintained and managed within facility
Maintain
physical condition of warehouse by
planning and implementing new design
layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing
work orders for repair and requisitions
for replacement
Ensure
facility is in compliance with all
safety, sanitation, quality and HACCP,
OSHA, policies and procedures, federal,
state and local regulations
The
Facility Manager will be responsible
for the Food Security Policy/Program to
assess potential food security risks and
to ensure food security preventive
measures are being implemented and
routinely audited regarding the storage
of all products
The
Facility Manager will be
responsible for ensuring all FDA
requirements regarding product storage
and recall policy and procedure are
implemented. Maintaining the best
possible bio-security procedures.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill
For Facility Manager Job

The
Facility Manager should possess 5+
years experience managing daily
operational expectations
-
10+
years management required if no
college degree held
-
The
Facility Manager should possess the
knowledge and understanding of best
practices used in routing deliveries
and dispatching delivery vehicles
-
He/She should have knowledge of
safety rules, regulations and
practices commonly utilized in
warehousing and distribution
operation
-
General understanding and knowledge
of Department of Transportation
rules and regulations
-
The
Facility Manager should be computer
literate; and should strive to be on
the leading edge of technology
-
He/She should have good working
knowledge of use and implementation
of barcode reading systems
-
He/She should possess knowledge of
reports used in a warehouse
distribution operation and the
ability to use those reports to
manage a warehouse and distribution
department as well as to diagnose
problems
-
The
Facility Manager must have good
verbal communication skills
-
Accurate and detail oriented
-
He/She should have management
experience
-
He/She should have experience with
outsourced truckload, LTL and high
volume UPS/FedEX shipments
-
The
Facility Manager should be able to
adjust to multiple demands, shifting
priorities and change

He/She should possess self-motivated

Minimum Education Requirements /
Certification / Licensure For
Facility Manager Job

4-year college degree with emphasis
in operations, business, marketing
or technology.
