Job Summary:
The
Change - Release Manager will be responsible
for preparing and performing activities
related to the release of product
updates and/or infrastructure changes to
the Company's production environment.
He/She will work with technicians,
engineers, developers and customer
support in maintaining company change
standards while managing the project
flow from development to production
(from a change management perspective).
The
Change - Release Manager will also
include technical writing and material
preparation, presentation, and timely
follow-up with all technical staff. As
part of the normal course of business,
he/she will interact with technical
staff as well as senior and executive IT
management.Job

The
Change - Release Manager will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:

Responsible for managing all activities
of the Change Maintenance Window: This
includes the planning,
monitoring/implementing and
communication of the RFC (Request for
Change) changes -
Review
all scheduled RFC for upcoming system
changes -
Given the
authority and responsibility to approve
or back out plans without waiting for
any escalation to other management -
Coordinate or contact resources
necessary to resolve unexpected issues -
Effectively collaborate and communicate
with others -
Work with
technicians, engineers, developers and
customer support in maintaining company
change standards while managing the
project flow from development to
production (from a change management
perspective) -
Coordinate meetings amongst Technical
Support staff and TO Managers to ensure
the proper and effective escalation of
Company technical issues and RFC status -
Planning
task: Responsible for maintaining the
reporting of scheduled RFC's -
Conduct
weekly meeting to review all scheduled
RFC for upcoming Change Maintenance
window -
Create
timetable and facilitates questions
/discussion on validation requirements,
customer impact, monitoring
requirements, other staff support
required etc -
Coordinate efforts with Project Managers
to provide effective research leading to
quick resolution of RFC ticket issues -
Monitoring Task: Review activity on the
Maintenance window -
Responsible for the approval /back out
plans without waiting for any escalation
to management -
Make
decisions if the Maintenance window is
exceeding the Service Level Agreement
(SLA) agreed upon open window time -
Obtain
status on all scheduled RFC's in
preparation for reporting final status -
Monitor
and ensure WEB validation has performed -
Contact
resources for unexpected issues -
Enforce
roll back procedures when necessary -
Develop
and maintain communication amongst
Company Technical Support staff and
Managers -
Develop
and maintain ongoing escalation process
of technical incidents -
Communications/Reporting : Accountable
to management for the status of all
RFC's -
Prepare
regular status reports and assist in
project management and reporting -
Responsible for reporting to Senior
Management of problems encounter during
the Maintenance Window.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill
For Change - Release Manager Job
-
5 years
technical experience, with 5+ years of
change management experience /project
management in an application, mainframe,
distributed, mid-range, network
environment. Solid knowledge of complex
IT products, applications, and operating
environments
-
High
degree of organizational and time
management skills and excellent
verbal/written communication and
presentation skills
-
Proficiency in: Microsoft Office (Excel,
Word, PowerPoint, Project), Visio,
Peregrine Change Management
-
Extremely
detail oriented
-
Ability
to work in a fast paced environment
-
Ability
to handle situations with diplomacy and
excellent presentation, customer service
skills and consultations skill
-
Ability
to direct/supervise lower level Change
Management staff, as needed.
