The
Category Manager will be responsible
for leading the category management
efforts for Company category. He/She
will be responsible for analyzing
various data sources, identifying
business insights and recommending
solutions that drive profitable growth.
The
Category Manager will work closely with
the Buyer on key initiatives, planning
cycles, line reviews, etc. to develop
and grow total category sales.

Own the
Category Management relationship with
buyer and act as a trusted category
advisor
Generate
weekly reporting and provide insights,
identify opportunities and deliver
solutions that drive profitable category
growth
Lead the
line review process, make
recommendations on category space
allocations and develop POGs using space
planning software
Develop
presentations and present to Target
buyer and key stakeholders (e.g.
business reviews, line reviews,
product/segment deep dives, shopper
insights, etc.)
Become
category SME and facilitate the
development and deployment of industry
Best Practices
Direct
and perform analysis across a wide
variety of retail business development
issues.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill
For Category Manager Job
5-7 years
of experience working with a leading CPG
company (Category Management, Shopper
Insights or related position)
Experience as Category Captain on major
National Retailer
Demonstrated knowledge of Category
Management philosophies, tools and
processes and proven record of success
Strategic
thinking, self-starter with ability to
manage multiple projects simultaneously
with aggressive deadlines
