Job Summary:
The
Automotive General Sales Manager
will be responsible for ensuring that
the dealership meets its new and used
vehicle unit sales quotas and its
objectives on a daily, monthly, and
annual basis. He/She will ensure that
the retail and fleet units sold aid the
dealership in reaching its profit
objective on a monthly and annual basis.
The General Sales Manager will
accomplish these objectives through
planning, organizing, coordinating, and
managing the activities of the new and
used vehicle sales departments and
achieving 100% Customer Service.

The
Automotive General Sales Manager will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:

Assist Sales Manager and Sales
Associates in the closing of
potential deals -
Achieve 100% Customer Satisfaction
as measured by the manufacturer -
Work
with the General Manager to
determine daily, monthly and annual
forecasts in terms of unit sales,
profit objectives and departmental
profits -
Forecast monthly with each Sales
Manager to establish sales
objectives, closing percentages in
each category, prospecting efforts,
unit sales, and projected income -
Meet
with Sales Managers each morning to
review yesterday’s results and
today’s plan of action -
Assist the Sales Managers in
planning programs that will aid each
Sales Associate in reaching
objectives -
Work
with the General Manager on
advertising, sales promotions,
manufacturer programs, staffing
needs, lease promotions, customer
complaints, and Sales Associate
evaluations -
Maintain a balanced vehicle
inventory and establish a program
for moving new vehicles and used
vehicles in inventory according to
AutoNation standards -
Assist in managing controllable
expense elements for the Sales
Department -
Demonstrate behaviors consistent
with the Company’s Vision, Mission,
and Values in all interactions with
customers, co-workers and suppliers -
Adhere to all company policies,
procedures, and safety standards.
