Assistant Branch Manager - Consumer Banking Job Description

 

 

 

Job Summary:

The Assistant Branch Manager - Consumer Banking will be responsible for assisting the Branch Sales Manager in overseeing the sales and operational functions of the branch. He/She will perform a variety of duties to retain and expand customer relationships; ensure quality customer services are provided; and consistently meet or exceed the customer's expectations.

Job Description:

The Assistant Branch Manager - Consumer Banking will perform all or some of the following Job description:

  • Manage the day-to-day branch teller and customer service operations including research and resolution of the most complex problems

  • Assume management responsibility in the absence of the Branch Manager

  • Perform the required duties to open new deposit accounts, complete consumer loan applications, and close consumer loans, providing quality customer service

  • Assist the Branch Manager in developing and implementing a program for consumer business development and sales promotion for the assigned branch; provide leadership for the in-branch consumer sales activities; prepare materials for meetings and encourage staff participation

  • Exercise the usual authority of an assistant manager concerning staffing, scheduling, performance appraisals, promotions, and employee salary recommendations to achieve maximum operating efficiency

  • Ensure account retention through quality customer service, sales and referrals by setting individual and team goals, conducting regular service skills review meetings, employee cross-training and promoting regular employee feedback

  • Ensure the development of department programs to comply with internal control/audit and security policies and procedures. 

Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill For Assistant Branch Manager - Consumer Banking Job

  • Working knowledge of financial products and services
  • Good interpersonal skills including oral and written communication skills
  • Sales and customer relations skills
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) in order to reconcile accounts
  • Working knowledge of PC
  • Supervisory Training (EEO, Affirmative Action, Performance Counseling and Sales Training)
  • Prior consumer banking/customer service/teller experience
  • Sales aptitude/self-motivated/goal oriented
  • 2 years experience in retail sales.

Minimum Education Requirements / Certification / Licensure For Assistant Branch Manager - Consumer Banking Job

  • Associates degree in a business related field and 1 year supervisory experience in a financial institution or equivalent experience of 4 years.
  • Registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS), as created by the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008.
