The Asset Manager will be responsible for the Company asset portfolio management activities including strategic planning, fleet acquisitions, investment & divestment analysis, fleet management, utilization, lease analysis, structuring and pricing.

Job Description:

The Asset Manager will perform all or some of the following Job description:

• Develop and execute a strategic plan to maximize value of applicable portfolios. Effectively communicate future direction of the portfolio

• Work closely with Account and Risk Managers on transaction structuring and overall customer strategy

• Drive pricing strategy for existing fleets by providing pricing recommendations, deal analysis and actively participating during deal review meetings

• Perform fleet and market analysis through various planning cycles

• Work closely with Marketing and Commercial teams to research, collect and analyze data concerning:
  a.industry and competitive situations
  b.commodity loadings and trends
  c.regulatory and legislative activity affecting fleet segments
  d.national fleet and new car builds

• Provide asset related technical consultation to customers and Company employees

• Drive portfolio investment strategy and make investment recommendations to capitalize on portfolio size and composition

• Identify on and off lease railcars that are candidates for sale

• Complete asset valuations, recommend pricing guidelines to maximize the value of the portfolio, and support the sales process

• Provide rationale to actively remarket cars in inventory

• Work closely with Equipment Management, Operations and Engineering teams to understand availability and marketability of off lease assets

• Actively participate in selected trade group activities and attend appropriate industry events

• Proactively manage the asset defleeting process by rationalizing older, less marketable assets, monitoring scrap prices, and identifying cars to scrap to optimize the fleet.

• Bachelor’s degree
• Masters degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or Operations Management.
