Job Summary:
The
IS Desktop Manager will be
responsible for providing the highest
level of workstation support, and for
coordinating the desktop engineering
team for projects or for day-to-day
technical support. Job

IS Desktop Manager will perform

Control
and report project progress and results
-
Volunteer
to take the lead on IS initiatives; able
to conduct and effectively resolve
issues in meetings

Effectively interact in collaboration
with immediate team, and all levels of
departmental staff as well as project
managers in project discovery or
analysis
-
Provide
outstanding customer service and
leadership to address project
interdependencies and issues
-
Consistently shows initiative and
promote ideas for improving processes
and relationships in the department
-
Assist on
remediation of the most difficult or
advanced problems and work on research
and the development of solutions for
newly identified issues and technologies
as they arise
-
Ensure a
timely response and resolution (or
escalation when appropriate) to Level 3
incidents and requests
-
Contribute standard formatted
documentation to knowledgebase
-
Maintain
required and personal training and
development plans.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill
For IS Desktop Manager Job
-
Five
years in managing a team of senior
desktop engineers
-
Extensive
experience in project management
-
Familiarity with relevant specific
hardware, software, and applications
highly desired
-
3+ years
of progressively more advanced direct
computer related work and customer
service experience
-
Experience with implementing and\or
managing a VDI infrastructure using
Vmware or Citrix XenApps
-
Comprehensive knowledge of current PC
operating systems, printing, networking,
and application environments
-
Ability
to work nights, weekends, and “on call”
rotation as required
-
Excellent
problem solving skills
-
Strong
written and oral communications skills,
and ability to demonstrate outstanding
customer service
-
Experience using a ticket tracking
systems
-
Experience with Microsoft Active
Directory administration and login
scripts
-
Significant expertise in the
distribution of packaged applications to
desktop environment using Microsoft’s
SCCM application distribution model
-
Ability
to engineer, manage and maintain a SCCM
infrastructure with over 6000+ node
-
Ability
to troubleshoot and resolve desktop
application issues, with the ability to
identify and proactively resolve
on-going desktop issues
-
Experience in writing scripts using
visual basic, MS SQL, batch files, WMI,
VBscript and Wscript in order to resolve
desktop application issues
-
Experience with desktop virtualization
-
Ability
to recommend and evaluate new technology
and/or process improvements for desktop
environment
-
Ability
to motivate team members and guide less
experienced staff
-
Demonstrated working knowledge of best
practices, and follow documented
processes and procedures in facilitation
of service recovery, refresh,
maintenance, moves and various other
project related activities.
Minimum Education Requirements /
Certification / Licensure For
IS Desktop Manager Job

Undergraduate degree in a technical
field and one of the following
certifications; MCSE, A+ or Network+
Certification.
