Project Management Specialist Job Description

 

 

 

 

Job Description:

The Project Management Specialist will perform all or some of the following Job description:

  • Develop overall project plans consistent with project objectives as defined by the project owner and key stakeholders in accordance with accepted Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM) methodologies

  • Develop and refine project plans using identified general project plan development metrics

  • Refine critical chain project management support architecture and supporting elements

  • Create missing architecture elements based on defined priorities

  • Refine existing elements as part of the plan, do, check, act continuous improvement process

  • May lead others and direct all phases of projects or subsystems of major projects from inception through completion

  • Act as primary project contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and project objectives

  • Ensure that all project control systems within the scope of the project are in place and integrate project data for decision makers

  • Engage project leads/teams and customers/stakeholders to utilize Critical Chain Buffer Management techniques to resolve project system constraint issues as well as articulating the benefits of CCPM and project management in general

  • Capture metrics of the CCPM system benefits

  • Capture feedback from discussions to assist in system improvements

  • Direct and manage more complex project schedules, independently identify project resource requirements, collaborate with others on more complex projects assigned, and assist others in complex large scale projects.

Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill For Project Management Specialist Job

  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with fellow employees, peers from other teams and/or parts of the organization and occasionally external customers

  • Excellent communication skill

  • Ability to continuously Improve

  • Ability to make customers and their needs a primary focus of one's actions

  • Ability to evaluate job tasks and processes on how well they help meet team objective(s)

  • Strong skill and ability to: collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources at the department level

  • Complete knowledge of Project Management theory, concepts and principles (e.g. theory of constraints, critical path methodology, project risk management, triple constraints, project scope management, project management lifecycle etc.) contained in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK[R] Guide)

  • Complete ability to create comprehensive project schedules which identify time frames for key project milestones

  • Complete ability to accept, direct, and perform responsibilities and work assigned tasks as a project team member in support of the overall project

  • 1 year of experience creating and modifying Resource Based Project Plans. 

Minimum Education Requirements / Certification / Licensure For Project Management Specialist Job

  • Bachelor's and typically 6 or more years' related work experience
  • Master's degree and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification
  • TOCICO (Theory of Constraints International Certification Organization) Project Management Certification.
