Facility Manager - Healthcare Job Description

 

 

 

 

Job Summary:

The Facility Manager - Healthcare is responsible for managing and maintaining the Company facility, including managing relationships with building services and vendors, coordinating space renovations, and overseeing the assignment of furniture, services, and suppliers. 

Job Description:

The Facility Manager - Healthcare will perform all or some of the following Job description:

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures necessary to support the Shared Services Facility

  • Analyze and resolve interior design and space related problems caused by growth and restructuring

  • Oversee expansion and relocation projects to ensure timely completion within budget

  • Administer fixed assets and maximize space productivity

  • Supervise the design, purchase, installation and maintenance of all furnishings

  • Supervise office management operations

  • Balance the needs of across entire Shared Services Organization and allocate resources in order to maximize service delivery

  • Monitor proper organizational structure, team member selection, performance management, salary administration, career planning, and budget management to ensure optimal use of human resources within the Facilities Team

  • Ensure team members receive orientation and appropriate development opportunities

  • Ensure work team is adequately equipped to perform their duties and responsibilities

  • Plan and define performance goals with Facilities Team members

  • Provide regular and effective performance feedback to team members

  • Encourage feedback from other Unit Leaders, team members, and property management. Utilize such feedback for self-improvement

  • Create and maintain a positive work environment

  • Stay abreast of the latest developments, best practices and trends in facilities management that may impact the shared service center

  • Responsible for owning the development of programs, initiatives and tools comprised within one of the Company organizational processes and for executing all others as appropriate

  • Act as change agent to foster an environment where people seek out better ways of operating

  • Identify and act upon ways to improve work processes, enhance quality, productivity, and service

  • Demonstrate commitment towards continuous improvement and willingness to challenge existing practices

  • Design appropriate programs aimed at assuring that the Company is continually up-to-date and that appropriate measures of performance relating to service and costs are developed and implemented

  • Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with vendors, legal advisors, and other third parties to understand challenges and opportunities, ensure timely exchange of information and ensure service level requirements are met

  • Negotiate contracts, manage performance against budget, and manage relationships with building/ property management, supply and service providers, banks and local legal firms.  

Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill For Facility Manager - Healthcare Job

  • PeopleSoft (or other ERP) experience a plus
  • 5 years experience in the healthcare industry (preferred)
  • 5 years experience in Facilities Management
  • Has helped set the direction of an organization in relation to Facilities Management
  • Between 3 - 5 years in a senior management position
  • Proven track record supervising multiple teams
  • Experience with start up operations desirable. 

Minimum Education Requirements / Certification / Licensure For Facility Manager - Healthcare Job

  • University degree with majors in finance, business administration, or equivalent work experience.
