Engineering/Maintenance Manager is responsible for
Engineering and Maintenance services to
achieve maximum financial benefit from
the plant’s capital expenditures,
maintenance expenditures, production
equipment and fixed assets.

The
Engineering/Maintenance Manager will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:
Manage Engineering and Maintenance
services and ensure operational
reliability
Oversee Preventative Maintenance
compliance and effectiveness
Ensure 5S compliance, create and
manage overhaul schedules for
sustained performance
Develop, monitor and ensure timely
completion of plant goals/action
plans, both short and long term
Assist Plant Manager in making
operational improvements to reduce
costs and to increase productivity
Utilize new technology and Lean
Manufacturing principals and
processes to maximize efficiency
Plan,
manage and execute capital asset
program in compliance with Annual
Operating Plan and established
policy
Sustain or develop a network base
with equipment vendors
Promote development cost saving
initiatives (CSIs) including
management of utilities and
equipment
Provide the day-to-day operational
leadership for mechanics,
electricians, technical crafts and
associated personnel
Develop a work environment within
manufacturing that promotes trust,
teamwork quality and safety
Assign accountability, build teams,
hire, develop, evaluate, train,
coach and discipline with Corrective
action as needed
Ensure the adherence to Safeway
policies, practices, and procedures
Manage union grievances for
effective outcomes
Ensure production of a quality
product in compliance with Safeway,
Federal and State guidelines. Ensure
all regulatory compliance as
applicable.

years in manufacturing/production
environment experience
3
years manufacturing plant
engineering/management experience
which includes financial management
and project development and project
management experience
Successful department budget
management
Proven skills and track record in
Preventive Maintenance, TPM,
Reliability Based Asset Management
Ability to interface and comply with
regulatory agencies
Knowledge of Capital Project
Development, Cost Estimation and
Management
Managing/Scheduling/Developing Human
Resources. Coach and Lead Skilled
Craft Technicians
Interpersonal, Team Building, and
Collaborative skills
Ability to effectively communicate
both verbally and in writing
Proficiency with Microsoft Word,
Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Office
and Microsoft Project. Previous
experience with Automated Control
Systems PLCs & PCs
Lean manufacturing principals, 5 S
deployment/sustainability, WCM
Strategy experience
