Job Summary:
The
Maintenance Mechanic, working under the
guidance master mechanic and the
Facility Manager, will be responsible for
the overall maintenance, inspections,
and repairs for equipment, facilities,
and utilities in a fast paced, team
oriented Industrial/Production
environment.Job
Description:
The
Maintenance Mechanic will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:
-
The
Maintenance Mechanic will follow,
without exception, all work instructions
and safety rules, including the use of
all PPE and safety gear
-
He/She will
reinforce
the instructions and rules with peers
Contribute to the general housekeeping
of the entire plant area, and the
assigned area in the maintenance “shop.”
The
Maintenance Mechanic will
practice
safety in all actions, including start
up-shut down & lockout / tag out
procedures for all responsibilities
He/She
will research improved and compatible
equipment that will standardize
equipment types which eliminates the
need for a wide variety of spare parts
and vendors
Complete,
maintain, and process all necessary
documents pertaining to repairs,
purchases and other appropriate
activities
He/She
will clean, lubricate, and adjust
mechanical parts as necessary
The
Maintenance Mechanic will installs new
equipment within the scope of knowledge,
and abilities
The
Maintenance Mechanic will perform other
related duties as assigned, by
supervisor or manager.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge /
Skill For Maintenance Mechanic Job

The
Maintenance Mechanic should possess
knowledge of OSHA requirements as they
pertain to daily activities

He/She should have
specific
safety knowledge with respect to the
plant and equipment

Strong,
problem-solving skills

Ability to
share
with other maintenance mechanic and
operators -
The
Maintenance Mechanic should be able to
examine
plant systems to diagnose problems and
prevent failures

He/She
should have the ability to
“Troubleshoots” problems to determine
the most cost effective solution

Consult
with Facility Manager and Production
Manager, and presents results and
alternatives

The
Maintenance Mechanic
must be
trained on all lifts used in the plant

Display
team player characteristics

He/She
should be able to
work
under minimal direction and supervision

Possess
strong
oral and written communication skills

Good
math, reading, communication, and
organizational skills

The
Maintenance Mechanic should have
a
combination of 5+ years of technical
training and experience

Solid
working knowledge of computer
applications (MS Office suite, internet
accessibility).
Minimum Education Requirements /
Certification / Licensure For
Maintenance Mechanic Job

High
School Diploma or equivalent
-
Technical
or trade school training in HVAC-R or
electrical/mechanical with PLC
experience strongly preferred.
