Industrial Maintenance Technician Job Description

 

 

 

Job Summary:

The Industrial Maintenance Technician will be responsible for supporting operation and maintenance of automated production equipment in a state-of-the-art facility. The Maintenance function includes service, troubleshooting, and repair for the production equipment.

Job Description:

The Industrial Maintenance Technician will perform all or some of the following Job description:

  • Demonstrate and apply knowledge of mechanical and basic electrical maintenance functions. This includes understanding the materials required for maintaining each equipment area, their general functions for logical scheduling purposes, standard repair procedures, and the significance of accurate and timely processing of work orders within these areas, including using SAP to generate work orders, order material and confirm work completion. Constantly learns and shares knowledge and information with others within the team to build overall production competency

  • Minimize machine downtime by troubleshooting and resolving mechanical and basic electrical and/or software and hardware issues using technical manuals, schematics and training

  • Demonstrate a strong focus by applying the highest level of service to internal customers through work order processing

  • Work with others when problem-solving and repairing or working within their area

  • Complete required training and certification for the Maintenance area in accordance with the Maintenance progression process for Technician. This includes, but is not limited to participating in new maintenance employee safety orientation, basic skills training, equipment-specific training, business orientation, material handling equipment, and teamwork processes

  • Develop functional knowledge of the maintenance work order system by generating work orders, viewing status of work orders, and closing work orders when complete

  • Demonstrate a desire to continuously improve and learn new skills that add value to the business process.    

Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill For Industrial Maintenance Technician Job

  • Basic understanding of electrical systems, PLC’s (programmable logic controllers), HMI’s (human machine interfaces) and/or drives

  • Experience interpreting drawings, diagrams and schematics (electrical, pneumatic, and other controls)

  • Basic analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills (mechanical and electrical)

  • Ability to work together with other technicians to diagnose routine and complex issues related to repair/service scheduling, tools required for mechanical repairs, generate potential solutions based on mechanical knowledge and make repairs as required.  

Minimum Education Requirements / Certification / Licensure For Industrial Maintenance Technician Job

  • Vocational training, certification, and/or minimum of three (3) year related experience in basic mechanics and electrical skill areas 
  • Valid driver’s license or eligible to get a valid state driver’s license.
