Human Resources Director - Management Mentor Job Description

 

 

 

Job Summary:

The Human Resources Director - Management Mentor will be responsible for the on-going operations of the HR Department including the sound operation and delivery of all HR systems. He/She will serve as a Management Mentor for all levels of management within the organization. He/She will be responsible for the efficient utilization of resources within and the effective customer service given by the department.  

Job Description:

The Human Resources Director - Management Mentor will perform all or some of the following Job description:

  • Responsible for the identification of customer needs and the day to day delivery of sound Human Resource strategies in response to those needs. Participate in the identification and creation of these strategies

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining a high level of operational effectiveness within the department via the analysis and systematic upgrade of all HR processes including compensation, benefits, HRIS, employee relations, recruiting, etc.

  • Responsible for the successful resolution of all employee relations issues

  • Responsible for surveying the market and keeping the organization up to date on current market practices. Make suggestions for changes as is appropriate

  • Develop superior working relationships with all employees and is effective in learning the business, its directions, cultures, work processes, policy and procedure, and organizational structure

  • Serve as a management mentor and resource to assist managers at all levels in the organization in making the best possible decisions

  • Focuse on increasing managerial talent and skills at all levels via one point source for consistency

  • Develop succession planning for the organization

  • Develop a management training overview and coordinate the training of managers with other organizational resources

  • Assist in the assessment and organizational design of all areas of the organization

  • Integrate the Career Center into the organization as a resource

  • Responsible for the normal activities of an Agency Director which include the following:
    Leadership - Provide leadership and guidance in the development, implementation, and evaluation of services in the department. Provide overall planning, control, organization, and monitoring for these services and the employees within these areas

  • Plan, organize and direct the provision of services within the assigned department(s) to assure compliance with the organization’s policies and procedures as well as appropriate regulatory agencies

  • Develop short-term and long-term goals and objectives for areas of responsibilities in accordance with those of the organization and interpret these to the staff

  • Comply with and support all department policies, procedures, projects and activities to ensure the effective utilization of department resources and the ongoing success of department operations

  • Direct process of interviewing, hiring and assuring evaluation and competency of all personnel for areas of responsibility

  • Engender enthusiasm, intellectual excitement, and an empowered professional staff

  • Demonstrate efficient organizational and time management skills through consistent patterns of work behavior and positive representation

  • Performance Improvement - Responsible for operational excellence of all assigned activities to ensure the cost-effectiveness and efficient delivery of quality services and/or outcomes required to meet the expectations of those utilizing or impacted by the department

  • Develop and implement a plan for an effective, interdisciplinary and ongoing program for quality assessment and performance improvement in the areas of responsibility

  • Pursue, in a creative manner, continuous quality improvements, which increase customer satisfaction and organizational financial performance

  • Adapt procedures and utilize available resources to maintain quality services and to meet changing requirements

  • Direct the development of standards for the delivery of quality services to the areas of responsibility

  • Follow all facility, organization and department precautions and procedures in the performance of all job duties to ensure a safe work environment for self and others

  • Administrative Support - Assist Leadership in analyzing, monitoring and controlling the budgets and operations of assigned areas to ensure cost effective and efficient delivery of quality patient care

  • Develop, implement, and manage the departmental budgets

  • Direct and analyze staffing schedules to ensure that they are consistent with budgetary constraints and meet the department standards and guidelines

  • Prepare and submit reports on human resource, service and operational development for the areas of responsibility, as required

  • Communicate with Leadership in a timely and routine manner on issues, potential problems, activities, and projects

  • Participate in the development of organization-wide programs, policies, and procedures

  • Attend assigned and required organizational supported meetings

  • Service Excellence - Support an environment that promotes departmental and organizational objectives by providing cooperative and courteous service to all customers

  • Achieve high visibility and availability to employees, patients and families, physicians, and Leadership to promote early identification and resolution of problems

  • Demonstrate courtesy, concern, professionalism, and positive responsiveness in interactions with all customers

  • Operate as a team with co-workers by approaching relationships in a positive manner

  • Respect confidentiality of patient, staff and privileged information

  • Serve as a role model in the participation and support of the organization’s Mission, Vision and Values.

Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill For Human Resources Director - Management Mentor Job

  • Set leadership standard for the service provided via personal behavior
  • Ability to make decisions and use independent judgment
  • Demonstrates commitment to the organization through availability and flexibility
  • Participate in local, state, and national professional organizations as necessary
  • Exceptional personal qualities showing commitment to high standards of patient care with ability to manage people and problems
  • Strong skills in MS Word, Excel and Outlook, a variety of other computer programs related to the type of work in the department
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong operational systems knowledge in the design and implementation of company policies
  • Experience with Human Resources functions including compensation, benefits, HRIS, Recruiting, Employee Relations, etc.

Minimum Education Requirements / Certification / Licensure For Human Resources Director - Management Mentor Job

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Psychology, Human Relations
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations and other Credentials:
    PHR or SPHR certification strongly preferred.
