The
Human Resources (HR) Consultant will
independently provide assistance in the
form of advice and counsel to staff and
management regarding: interpretation and
application of collective bargaining
agreements and personnel policies;
compliance with applicable local, State
and Federal law.

description:
Provide advice and counsel to
managers on performance management,
layoffs, grievance processing, and
complaint resolution
Respond to information requests
Assist in preparation and
presentation of arbitration and
other administrative hearings
Conduct formal and informal
management training.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill

years of Human Resources Generalist
experience preferred, or equivalent
combination of education and
experience
-
Current knowledge of personnel and
labor law, wage/hour law and
employment law
-
General familiarity with
compensation and benefit plan(s)
administration

Sensitivity
and tact in dealing with numerous
campus departments, employees and
union representatives
Proven ability in problem-solving,
analysis and independent judgment
Excellent communication skills, both
verbal and written
Ability to work under minimal
supervision, and function
effectively in potentially
adversarial and somewhat ambiguous
situations
General familiarity with
compensation programs and practices.
