Director Human Resources - Global Job Description

 

 

 

Job Summary:

The Director Human Resources - Global, reporting to the Global VP, Human Resources, will be responsible for developing and executing HR strategies for the global Integrated Supply Chain (ISC), Quality and Sourcing organizations; and for partnering with the global HR Centers of Excellence (COE's) and regional HR Operations teams to manage the effective acquisition, development and management of talent in these functions.

Job Description:

The Director Human Resources - Global will perform all or some of the following Job description:

  • HR Strategy Development. In support of the global functional leaders for ISC, Quality and Sourcing, develop and execute HR strategies in support of business STRAP and AOP objectives in the areas of talent acquisition, performance management, learning & development, compensation and organizational development

  • Work with client groups to:
    Drive a culture of growth, meeting commitments, and positive employee relations
    • Support business development activities and strategy development including acquisition due diligence and divestitures
    • Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization, at all levels (e.g., evaluation of cost, clarifying roles and responsibilities, organization design, etc.)
    • Implement consistent and meaningful leadership communication processes

  • Talent Assessment and Development. Conduct organization assessments and upgrade talent through strategic staffing and talent pipeline development

  • Lead the functional Management Resource Review (MRR) process and ensure appropriate linkages with broader functional and business reviews

  • Work with leadership to manage talent development (mentoring, leadership development programs, university recruiting, etc.)

  • Increase employee engagement and commitment

  • Effective HR Execution. Work with the global and regional HR COE; and regional HR Operations teams to ensure the aligned and effective delivery of HR support/services to the business

  • Provide sound advice and counsel to management on all employee relations matters

  • Achieve positive employee relations and effective management of three bargained-for sites

  • Partner with the Staffing COE to ensure flawless execution of staffing processes for all levels within the business and develop staffing strategies to ensure a robust pipeline of quality candidates

  • Program manage key HR initiatives within the business (compensation program development, site transitions, key staffing initiatives)

  • Functional Excellence. Support the drive for global standardization of key processes

  • Active engagement in Company HR functional transformation initiatives

  • Support SBU as well as Company HR initiatives across the functions

  • Lead growth and development of employees within functional reporting lines.

Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill For Director Human Resources - Global Job

  • 10 years of experience in Human Resources "in a progressive professional Human Resources experience including prior leadership/management roles"
  • Two (2) years people management experience
  • Previous manufacturing or factory experience
  • 2 years in a labor (bargained-for) environment strongly preferred
  • 2 years generalist experience in a plant environment
  • 5 years experience supporting senior leadership, director and/or vice president level
  • Experience supporting multiple locations globally, highly preferred
  • Contract negotiations experience, highly preferred
  • Confidence with the ability to connect and inspire others
  • Proven track record of leading projects and teams that successfully achieve milestones and complete deliverables
  • Deep understanding and experience with the ability to practically apply, as well as coach others to do so.

Minimum Education Requirements / Certification / Licensure For Director Human Resources - Global Job

  • Undergraduate degree: concentration in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Organization Development, or related discipline
  • Masters degree or MBA in Human Resources or Labor Relations preferred.
