Job Summary:
The
Vice President Finance
is responsible for leading and directing
the budgeting, forecasting and analysis
functions for SG&A expenses across
Company. He/She is responsible for
ensuring that cost structure is
appropriate for a competitive
environment. This also includes direct
responsibility for operating cost
management and the negotiation and
facilitation of inter-segment
agreements.

The
Vice President Finance will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:

Manage a
team of more than twenty finance
professionals and responsible for
forecasting and management of a $7
billion dollar budget
-
Proactively monitor trends to identify
risks and opportunities across key
expense categories. Establish benchmarks
and scorecards to assist leadership in
managing the fiscal discipline of their
functions. Facilitate root cause
analysis and solutions identification.
Present solutions and timelines to
executive teams when large scale change
or trade offs are identified

Drive
strategic decision making through an in
depth understanding of company cost
structure, industry trends, market
dynamics and internal key indicators.
Drive operational improvement and cost
containment efforts across functional
areas. Ensure volume appropriate cost
structures and targets are in place to
drive desired business results

Develop
strong intra-company relationships by
proactively meeting with key leaders
within finance and across the business.
Represent business segment at Company
Operating Cost Management meetings and
Inter-segment Process Improvement and
Technology Improvement Steering
Committees
-
Lead
Company in forecasting of SG&A and
continued improvements for forecast
accuracy. Drive Business Process
Improvements related to finance
processes and financial systems. Execute
team leadership by selecting the right
talent and focusing priorities and
performance

Understand constituent needs/issues and
develop actionable reporting tools for
various customer groups; including ad
hoc analysis. Lead ad-hoc financial
initiatives at the request of Company
CEO/CFO

Negotiate
and facilitate inter-segment agreements
-
Approve
Company budget and target transfers
-
Serve as
a catalyst for change - actively
involved in the process of
organizational change and development

Apply
analytical / quantitative approach to
problem solving - knows how to obtain
and use data

Break
down organizational barriers across
Company segments, build alliances, and
gain consensus to ensure results are
obtained

Engage
leadership across Company to
achieve cost containment objectives

Drive
business process improvements related to
finance processes and financial systems.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge /
Skill For Vice President Finance Job

15
years of progressively responsible
financial and operational management
experience
-
Ability to anticipate accounting,
financial reporting and operational
issues, asses their implications,
determine their impact and develop
and implement an appropriate action
plan
-
Advanced financial statement
knowledge with the ability to
generate a complete set of financial
statements and assess and
communicate the impact of those
-
Public accounting experience
preferred but not required
-
Multi-divisional, multi-year
financial experience required,
including the strong ability to
influence in a matrixed environment
-
Strong working knowledge of
financial systems, statement and
reports
-
Advanced knowledge of
industry-specific accounting
principles and other regulatory
requirements with an ability to
apply that knowledge to both
practical and theoretical situations
-
Solid
organizational, problem solving, and
inter-personal skills
-
Ability to break work down into
process steps; develop schedules and
works well within time constraints
-
Demonstrated ability to source and
select, develop, promote and retain
top financial talent

Finance or equivalent education and
experience

CPA
required, MBA preferred.
