Job Summary:
The
Supervisor Finance Government Programs
is responsible for the supervision of
third party billing activities from all
non-government payers and patients.
He/She will be responsible for the
supervision of staff, and interact with
many hospital departments, external
agencies, patients, medical staff and
senior management.

Description:
The
Supervisor Finance Government Programs will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:

Responsible for ensuring prompt and
courteous response to written or
telephone inquires and requests
related to patient bills. Includes
documentation and follow-through to
completion, updating of patient or
insurance information, rebilling,
adjustments and other complaints or
problems
-
Assist management and act as a
technical resource to staff. This
includes the monitoring of
appropriateness and professionalism
of telephone contacts,
correspondence and personal
interviews
-
Perform
reviews and recommend appropriately
-
Responsible for supervising third
party payer activities. Monitor
receivable results and make
suggestions and necessary changes to
improve operational levels of
performance
-
Evaluate all problems that impede
the orderly and timely resolve of
accounts. Interact with departments,
agencies or individuals to resolve
such problems
-
Organize and determine priorities of
the work for the area. Participate
in and recommend procedures, systems
and work methods that may affect
areas both within and beyond this
area
-
Interview, train, recommend
selection/termination and annual
merit evaluations of employees under
his/her supervision
-
Prepare and review a variety of
reports, maintain statuses for
reporting to manager on key
measurements of the unit.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge /
Skill For Supervisor Finance Government
Programs Job
Thorough
understanding of both theoretical
and practical aspects of own
professional discipline. Understand
internal/external client needs and
how he/she can contribute to meeting
those needs
Sound working knowledge of third
party payers, systems development
and all hospital policies and
procedures usually acquired through
one to three years of progressively
responsible accounts receivable
management including one to three
years in acute hospital field
Ability to
make decisions and recommendations
on issues affecting a department,
project or customer base
Ability to direct teams for
significant projects or larger
groups. Establish goals tied to
project or business objectives
.Previous Medicare/Medicaid
background.
