The Systems Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing a team of Systems Engineers (SEs) tasked with providing field technical support for Company Sales Division.  

Job Description:

• Work side by side with sales managers and account executives to maximize sales revenue by providing timely and solutions-oriented technical planning and pre-sales support

• Ensure that the Systems Engineers are qualified to provide the right blend of business and technical expertise for an increasingly complex and sophisticated client base

• Your Systems Engineers must all be able to demonstrate, at a minimum, proficiency in complementary third party products and services as well as Company’s products and services

• They must develop and deliver persuasive technical sales presentations and product demonstrations highlighting the relevant product features and benefits as well as the competitive advantages

• Systems Engineers also provide expert guidance on the integration and implementation of Company’s business solutions into a wide variety of customer environments

• Work in conjunction with both technical management and Sales to set team goals and performance metrics

• Drive the team to develop the technical skills and competencies necessary to meet and exceed the established objectives

• Responsible for the hiring, professional development, MBO setting, performance evaluation and, if necessary, corrective action for each of your direct reports

• Foster a collaborative environment that encourages both individual and team accomplishments

• Participate with Systems Engineers and Sales on customer calls that require your technical management experience and perspective. Cross-functional coordination will at times be necessary to resolve product issues that may jeopardize significant sales opportunities

• Assist your Systems Engineers team in building and sustaining relationships with the technical influencers and decision makers at all key accounts.   

• Proven track record of managing technical personnel and succeeding in a sales environment

• Demonstrate excellent leadership, communication and organization skills

• Ability to effectively interface cross functionally with other organizations such as Sales, Professional Services, Marketing, Product Marketing, Customer Service and outside vendors

• Ability to effectively multi-task and make balanced business decisions under pressure.
