Job
Summary:
The
Software Engineer, in support of CDS
project and other derivative
integrations, will develop and deploy
integrated solutions aimed at
modernizing, consolidating and
coordinating the independently designed
applications within and across the
enterprise. He/She will formulate system
scope and objectives, and devise and
modify procedures to solve problems.
The
Software Engineer will prepare detailed
specs from which programs will be
written. He/She will design, code, test,
debug and document programs; plan and
organize the development of technical
support protocol, maintain operating
systems, evaluate software and system
problems and potential solutions to
application systems requirements.
The
Software Engineer may plan, coordinate
and administer databases including
issues relating to security and
integrity of controls. He/She will
establish project schedules and budget
estimates.

Software Engineer will perform all or

The
Software Engineer will perform
work that is complex and varied in
nature
He/She will define and discern key aspects
of a problem and develop an integrated
solution within a broad technical and
business context of significant impact.
May provide guidance/training to more
junior staff
The
Software Engineer will be responsible for the analysis,
development, modification, installation,
testing and maintenance of application
systems software
He/She will modify, install and
prepare technical documentation for
system software applications. Diagnose,
isolate and de-bug software problems
and perform problem resolution
Develop plans to improve system
services. Initiate and develop
concepts to solve moderate to complex
situations with little or no precedent
The
Software Engineer will analyze business requirements and code
to determine how existing applications,
legacy systems, databases are impacted
and changed /redesigned to meet the new
and emerging enterprise requirements
He/She will recommend new system opportunities (new
systems or applications ) for the use of
new technology operating on multiple
platforms
He/She will monitor systems
availability, capacity and performance
and plans
The
Software Engineer will perform component and data architecture
design , software product evaluation and
buy vs. build recommendations
He/She will develop
methods to efficiently reuse existing
components
Respond to system users,
evaluate software and system problems
and potential solutions to application
systems requirements
The
Software Engineer will perform database analysis, code and
test routines to ensure successful and
seamless communication among the various
IT systems and applications components.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill
For Software Engineer Job
He/She should have adequate
programming/systems analysis
experience with emphasis in
applications and systems
architectural design and
development, database and middleware
technologies
Adequate J2EE with strong analysis
experience
Adequate SQL Server and SQL
scripting
The
Software Engineer should have
adequate number of years of report
generation with VBA and Excel
He/She should have adequate number
of years of experience in a
production support environment
Experience with JBoss and/or Tomcat
Experience with Oracle PL/SQL is a
plus
Market data skills with Bloomberg or
Reuters is plus.
