Department Manager - Customer Service Job Description

 

 

 

Job Summary:

The Department Manager - Customer Service will be responsible for providing world-class customer service. He/She will excel at motivating and training sales associates to consistently deliver the highest levels of service, to support Company’s established and dynamic brand, and to share their love of the outdoors with customers. He/She will also possess a collaborative leadership style that allows him/her to work fluidly with both the sales and leadership teams to create an exceptional customer experience within the store.

Job Description:

The Department Manager - Customer Service will perform all or some of the following Job description:

  • Manage all customer service activities in the store

  • Monitor performance relative to business goals and making improvements as necessary

  • Model the ideal sales floor presence and coach sales associates toward the highest levels of customer focus and engagement

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills with customers, your team, and home office partners

  • Drive business results

  • Develop talent

  • Ensure delivery of the legendary Company customer experience

  • Promote the company's core values of Outdoors Heritage, Integrity, Service, Respect, Perseverance and Safe and Healthy Living to ensure the integrity of the brand, culture and mission of Company is upheld at all times

  • Ensure compliance with the Company comprehensive Health and Safety program by knowing and following all safety guidelines, policies, procedures and expectations

  • Take immediate and appropriate action to rectify any unsafe conditions

  • Ensure compliance of front line employees with comprehensive Health and Safety program. 

Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill For Department Manager - Customer Service Job

  • 3+ years retail management experience in relevant traffic, volume and unit intensity location
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and organizational skills
  • 3 or more years’ retail management experience in a $5M+ store
  • Demonstrated experience supervising and motivating employees
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to achieve sales and service goals
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to develop and motivate employees
  • Ability to build strong partnerships and work collaboratively to achieve goals
  • Established time management and organizational skills
  • Established interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build strong partnerships and work collaboratively to achieve goals
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends and holidays.

Minimum Education Requirements / Certification / Licensure For Department Manager - Customer Service Job

  • Associates Degree or equivalent.
