The Construction Engineer, under direction of Senior Engineer will be responsible for preparing construction drawings and specifications. He/She will execute work within budget and scope.

He/She will review shop drawings and coordinate with other disciplines.

Job Description:

• Provide technical interpretation of design documents in support of construction managers, superintendents, and contractors and provide specific expertise for problem solving

• Coordinate completion of construction activities in assigned systems and prepare punch lists to ensure the readiness of systems for release for turn-over to the client or for start-up

• The Construction Engineer will prepare work packages and other construction related information in a timely manner as required to support the work schedule

• Monitor and inspect construction operations to ensure compliance with design documents

• Control, distribute and file drawings, specifications and other design documents

• The Construction Engineer will maintain liaisons with the design engineer to schedule and coordinate the release for construction of design documents in support of the construction schedule

• Monitor subcontractor’s performance to ensure conformance to project quality, safety, security, and specification requirements

• Maintain liaisons between the contractor and the design engineer

• The Construction Engineer will evaluate change requests and interface with the contract administrator for the initiation and development of contract modifications

• Investigate and resolve engineering and technical related problems

• He/She will perform other duties as assigned.  

• He/She should possess experience in AutoCAD or Microstation
• 3D software experience a plus
• The Construction Engineer must have good Communication Skills both Written and Oral
• He/She must have the ability to work with others
• Prior experience working with construction packages needed with experience on industrial projects a plus
• He/She must be able to obtain PE.
