Job Summary:
The
Supervisor - Computer is
responsible for the supervision of
Desktop Support staff who provide
maintenance, repair and support of
computer functions within Information
Technology. Job
Description:
The
Supervisor - Computer will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:
Supervise customer service and
technical support efforts provided
by the Desktop Support team
Manage
resource allocation and prioritize
staff tasking
Coordinate local
Information Technology support for
all Company divisions
Manage
the distribution of break/fix work
orders, user service requests and
special tasking efforts
Responsible for managing
confidential matters (personnel
actions, management reports, etc) in
accordance with management policies
Communicate professionally, both
orally and in writing, with
subordinates to ensure they receive
the necessary guidance to be
successful
Accountable for identifying goals
and objectives for each staff member
and providing input into annual
Performance and Development
evaluations
Responsible for maintaining a
working inventory of all
IT assets supported by Desktop team
Responsible for maintaining
sufficient stock of on-site
consumables, spare parts and
components for computer repairs and
replacements
Contribute
to the development of budgetary
recommendations for inclusion in the
Information Technology annual
program plan
Accountable for maintaining
compliance with Information
Technology standards, policies, and
procedures
Remain current with industry
standards and emerging technologies
that would affect the operations of
computer support. Actively
participate in professional
seminars, corporate sponsored
training and review of technical and
vendor publications
Accountable for actively
participating in IT Operations and
Information Security incident
response efforts, as required
Responsible for implementing and
maintaining a safe workplace program
and ensuring that safety is a high
priority in the workplace
Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge /
Skill For Supervisor - Computer Job

Minimum of two years of supervisory
experience in the operation and
administration of desktop systems
and associated peripheral equipment
-
Extensive experience in customer
service and support in an IT
environment
-
Excellent
verbal and written communications
skills
-
Ability to be a team
player. be self-motivated and show
attention to detail
Expert-level
experience in current computer
hardware and software
Practical experience with desktop
computer equipment, systems
operations and network
administration
Working
knowledge of protocols utilized in
an Information Technology
environment, such as electronic
mail, whole disk encryption,
industry standard software
applications and hardware
interfaces
Expert-level knowledge of MS Windows
XP/Windows 7
Ability to develop and mentor a
multi-discipline technical support
team.
