Perform Systems Administrator
function in heterogeneous technical
environments that include: Windows,
Linux, Solaris, IRIX, NAS, SAN,
GRID, data centers, tiered storage,
and network communication protocols
including TCP/IP
Participate in planning, designing,
and implementation of new systems
within the infrastructure
Responsible for project and
technical leadership of
infrastructure projects to ensure
that business goals and objectives
of program or functional areas are
accomplished within prescribed time
frame and funding parameters
Ensure that daily tasks are
completed as scheduled and reports
results to business
customers/programs and functional
organizations
Work closely with customers, IT
Centers, business technologists, and
others to understand and prioritize
business goals, develop new
technology strategies and satisfy
information needs
Participate in the development of IT
Operations Center priorities, and
help determine time frame and
procedures for accomplishing
requirements
Communicate and develop status
reports to business points of
contact
Assist peers by training and
mentoring while focusing on team

Minimum 6 years experience in system
administration
Hands on experience with Windows,
Linux, UNIX, security and system
hardening, systems integration,
advanced troubleshooting and
authentication/authorization
services (LDAP)
UNIX (including Linux, Solaris, and
Irix) experience in a medium to high
complexity environments
Working experience with system
administrator tools, UNIX/Windows
scripts and at least one scripting
language (e.g. Perl)
Linux kernel modification and
development
Clustering, patching, configuration
management and configuration control
methodologies
Experience in implementing and
documenting systems for high
bandwidth production environments
Excellent troubleshooting skill;
ability to understand and
communicate complex relationships
between components of the overall
systems architecture
Solid knowledge of operating system
internals, file system structures
and machine architectures
Ability to monitor, analyze, test
and tune the operating system
Broad knowledge of networking and
networking applications
Excellent verbal and written
communications skills
Knowledge and experience using an

Understanding of a wide spectrum of
