Job Summary:
The
Research Engineer- Computer Electronics
Electrical Services is
responsible for the upkeep and
recommendation of laboratory equipment
in research and student laboratories,
and consultation with graduate and
undergraduate students and professors
concerning design and implementation of
new specialized equipment.

Description:
The
Research Engineer- Computer Electronics
Electrical Services will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:
-
Diagnose, repair, adjust, calibrate,
and modify specialized electronic
equipment and instrumentation used
in research
-
Repair and calibration of electronic
equipment used for teaching in the
School of Chemical Sciences
-
Design of circuitry to modify
instrumentation as necessary for
application to research
-
Consult with faculty and graduate
students to diagnose and resolve
problems with the repair or
application of instrumentation
-
Consult with graduate and
undergraduate students and
professors concerning design and
implementation of custom-built
electrical, electromechanical or
electronic equipment
-
Repair and maintenance of test
equipment used in the repair
facility.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge /
Skill For Research Engineer- Computer
Electronics Electrical Services Job
-
Three
years experience in electronic
repair and design of a wide variety
of industrial, laboratory and
consumer equipment
-
Knowledge of reading and drawing
circuit diagrams
-
Skills in the operation of computer
generated graphics, circuit board,
and schematic programs
-
Experience with power tools,
soldering and other electronic
construction techniques
-
Good
communication skills and willingness
to accommodate and work with
coworkers, students and faculty.
