Job
Description:
The
Computer Operations Specialist will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:
-
Independently monitor system and
network performance and availability
using automated tools such as
Tivoli, Cisco-Works, and NetView
-
Troubleshoot and escalate incidents
and problems when detected
-
Interface with vendors to ensure
appropriate resolution during
network outages or periods of
reduced performance
-
Perform routine tests of assigned
systems and report the on results
-
Oversee the operation of the
Company's hardware system, including
coordinating and scheduling the use
of system for routine maintenance
-
Use
the Company terminal to enter
commands, activate controls on
system and peripheral equipment to
integrate and operate equipment
-
Assist systems analysts test and
debug new programs
-
Record system and network
information: the operating time,
problems that occurred, and actions
taken to resolve problems
-
Manage the backup process and tapes:
assist with labeling, classifying,
cataloging and maintaining tapes
-
Respond to error messages; finding
and correcting problems or
terminating jobs
-
Read
job set-up instructions to determine
equipment to be used, order of use,
and material such as backup tape to
be loaded, and control settings
-
Retrieve, separate and sort jobs as
needed, and send the output to
specified users
-
Load
peripheral equipment with selected
materials for operating runs, or
oversee loading of peripheral
equipment by peripheral equipment
operators.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge /
Skill For Computer Operations Specialist Job

Familiarity with TCP/IP

Ability to monitor MS Windows Server
2000/2003/2008, Active Directory,
Group Policies, MS Exchange, MS
Outlook, and BlackBerry
-
Ability to manage user accounts and
groups.
